Trumpets were made from Egyptians out of bronze or silver. They were typically used for battles or religious reasons.

1000-1300 A.D

Europe re-discovered the trumpet and started making them out of sheets of metal

Charles Clagget attempted to make the first valve mechanism of the trumpet in 1788 but later was perfected by Heinrich Stoelzel and Friedrich Bluhmel in 1818.

In 1839, Francois Perinet invented the piston valve trumpet (the most commonly used trumpet that we see today)

This is when it became very popular in the music industry and would be used by many great jazz musicians such as, Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis & Freddie Hubbard.

Today the trumpet is stilled played by many people but has died down tremendously in popularity for the music we listen to today.
